Sector spotlight: Deep tech, Fintech, and Renewables

While the top 10 represent the largest checks, other sectors also saw meaningful activity:

By industry (capital invested):

  • Software: Led both in deal count and strategic depth, including mid-stage rounds from Relace, Nexl, Onkernel, and Knapsack Company. Investors favored companies with automation, AI, and compliance solutions.
  • Renewable energy: Beyond Hero Future Energies, smaller rounds in EcoEx and h2c0 show continued confidence in climate-focused ventures.
  • Fintech: Platforms like Falcon and Fanable demonstrate resilience and ongoing investor appetite in digital financial infrastructure.

M&A implications

  1. Mid-stage software and biotech rounds expand the pool of potential acquisition targets.
  2. Late-stage deep tech and clean energy rounds push valuation floors higher, setting benchmarks for strategic deals.
  3. Cross-border participation suggests that partnerships, spinouts, and international acquisitions will remain a strong trend.

Investors are prioritizing scale and defensibility, creating a focused pipeline of opportunities for M&A advisors and dealmakers heading into 2026.
